The Sales Application Engineer will have dual responsibility of managing new business RFQ’s and new business development.

What you will be doing:

Manage Quoting of New Customer Injection Molding Opportunities

• Point of contact to Customers and/or Sales for all new RFQ’s
• Ensure new opportunities/RFQ’s are aligned with the IMS business model
• Liaison between Sales, Customers, and Suppliers/Partners
• Log monthly customer communications in SalesForce
• Assist with Customer engineering-change quotes as needed
• Ensure customer requests requiring escalation are quickly shared with the appropriate parties in order to meet customer expectations
• Maintenance of department records including filing of quote folders, Quote-Log, and SalesForce
• Conducts Risk Management meetings after thoroughly reviewing part geometry, specifications, and quality requirements to identify potential issues prior to accepting orders.
• Defines and communicates technical requirements to Project Engineers and manufacturing partners to ensure successful execution.

Drive New Business

• Identifies opportunities to grow business with new customers
• Assist Sales with winning new business:Follow up with quoted opportunities

Assist in technical conversations

Manage New Business Purchase Orders

• Process new business purchase orders, which includes:
• Send order acknowledgements
• Perform contract and PO review
• Conduct new project kick-off meeting
• Assign Project Engineers to new projects

Other

• Provide input and/or implement solutions to company practices in order to improve efficiencies and streamline work procedures

Must have for this role:

• 3+ years of experience in an industry related role
• 2+ years of experience working in MS Office suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to communicate professionally to a variety of internal/external customers in both written and verbal forms
• Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and effectively

Nice to have:

• 2+ years estimating, selling, and or project engineering of plastic injection molding projects

Travel required: 10%

  Pay: $60,988.42 - $75,448.42 per year
